How to Update a Student or Renter to Instructor or Staff


Once a students has graduated into an instructor role, or taken a part time job to help around the flight school, you will need to upgrade their permissions to be able to complete the appropriate tasks. Users DO NOT NORMALLY need multiple profiles, just their initial profile updated.

  • First, navigate to the people search and search the desired user.

  • Once you are viewing their profile, you can select the Account Settings drop down.


  • Click on Online Access, and navigate to the roles. Here you will see what roles they are assigned, and by clicking in this box it will allow you to apply another role to their profile.


  • Select the new role, remove the previous role if you would like, but it is not necessary since FSP will always revert to the role with the greatest permissions allowed.
  • For Instructors, toggling "Instructor YES" will create the user an instructor profile and allow the user to be scheduled as an instructor on reservations.


  • Click the save button at the bottom, and you’re good to go!
