Track Training Progress within a Program

Follow

You can track student progress within an individual course and across an entire training program for students who have been added to a program.

Step by Step

To view progress for students who have been added to a training program, complete these steps:

    1. Navigate to a student‘s Course Overview page. A Progress box is displayed. This Course and Entire Program sections are displayed in the box.
      • Notes:
        • The Progress box is displayed only for students who have been added to a training program.
        • If the student is removed from the program, then the Progress box is no longer displayed.
    2. View the This Course section to see student progress for the course that you are currently viewing.
      • Notes:
        • Projected Graduation Date is determined by taking the total number of unlogged, incomplete, or failed lessons for the course, then dividing it by Actual (Avg)Lessons/Week.
        • If a progress profile has been added for the student enrollment, then Exp. (Expected) Lessons/Week is the number of lessons per week as defined for the progress profile. (See Set Up Progress Profiles for more information about progress profiles.) If a progress profile has not been added for the student enrollment, then Exp. Lessons/Week is determined by taking the total number of lessons in the course, then dividing it by the number of weeks from the enrollment date to the expected graduation date.
        • Actual (Avg)Lessons/Week is determined by taking the total number of passed lessons for the course and dividing it by the number of weeks since the enrollment date. This data is populated only if there is at least one week of progress within the course.
        • Lessons/Week to Meet Exp. Graduation Date is determined by taking the total number of unlogged, incomplete, or failed lessons for the course, then dividing it by the remaining number of weeks until the expected graduation date.
        • Progress calculations stop once the course enrollment status is updated to Graduated, Transferred, or Terminated.
        • Draft training sessions are not included in calculations.
    3. View the Entire Program section to see student progress for the entire training program.
      • Notes:
        • Exp. (Expected) Completion Date is displayed only if one was entered when the student was added to the program.
        • Projected Completion Date is determined by taking the total number of unlogged, incomplete, or failed lessons in all courses that are included in the program, then dividing it by Actual (Avg)Lessons/Week for the past four weeks of student training (student training time excludes Time Off; see Manage Your Availability for more information about student Time Off).
        • Weeks in Program is displayed only if a timeline was selected when the student was added to the program.
        • Progress calculations stop once the enrollment status for all courses included in the program is updated to Graduated, Transferred, or Terminated.
        • Draft training sessions are not included in calculations.

Consideration

Course and Program Progress calculations are not always updated immediately, and some updates occur overnight. Try refreshing the page or checking back later if you take an action that should trigger a calculation update:

  • Log, edit, or delete a training session for a course that‘s included in the program
  • Update the student‘s enrollment status for a course that‘s included in the program
  • Update the student‘s expected graduation date for a course that‘s included in the program
  • Update the student‘s expected completion date for the program
  • Change the student’s Time Off
  • Add a lesson to a course that‘s included in the program
  • Create a new version of a course that‘s included in the program, with the new version containing a different number of lessons than the previous course*

*These scenarios only affect students whose enrollment status for the course is Future Course.

Permission Needed

A student’s Course Overview can be viewed only by the following users:

  • The student
